Almost Sufficiently Distracted

This "9 months-and-counting" update will be a quick because for the moment I'm distracted, and I welcome it.  Sufficiently distracted would be a bit generous.  I'll just say I'm distracted enough to keep me, most days, from jumping at every phone call that registers as an unrecognized number, believing for a fleeting moment that maybe, just maybe, its THE call.  Instead I see the number and think, "probably not, but it would be awesome if I am wrong."

In short, this year is turning out to be epic, and that's even without a placement so I can only imagine the amplification of its "epic-ness" if that was to happen!  Work is busy, but challenging in the exciting, work-some-weekends, sort of way.  My sister's Fall wedding is looming as the plans for festivities are escalating to their girly, celebratory, full-force.  The casual "interest rates are low, wouldn't it be nice to not pay HOA dues" perusing is turning into real possibilities that involve big decisions, quick action, lots of prayer, and frankly a bit of "we'll just see what happens."  This includes the possibility of staying with my parents for a short time and redoing another set of floors (this time with some paid help).  My dad announced his plans to retire.  My sister and her fiance finalized their newlywed plans to serve abroad in the coming year.  The list goes on, and as my mom always says, "when it rains it pours!" 

Its all a little scary, and also a lot exciting.  I'll take the distraction!  By definition every day, whether distracted or obsessing, is one day closer.  We are thankful for that, and for all the scary excitement along with it.
