Some may call it retail therapy, but I like to call it "nesting" or "building a treasure chest." I seem to have gotten the idea in my head that every month it would be fun, therapeutic if you will, to buy or create a little something for the child we are waiting for. We don't have a story of a romantic evening (not that we'd tell it anyways) or ultrasounds photos or pregnancy tales or kick counts, but its still our story all the same. Our waiting time is not a defined nine months, but its very much our time of preparation and anticipation. I think it will be special to "show" our child who we were and what we were up to during this very unique period of our lives. Really, our wait for him/her is also the other tributary of their life story as well. One side of the story comes from us and the other from his/her birth family, both indispensable facets of who he/she is.
This month we were fortunate to spend a weekend with my parents in Bryce
and Zion, enjoying each other, family, and the outdoors. That is one
truth about adoption, you stay mobile much longer. My mom and I had fun
perusing the gift shop for baby trinkets, some nice daughter - future grandmother bonding. Once we narrowed it
down, T gave the deciding final vote on the attire. Someday we can pull
out these items and say that in the third month we waited for you in
Bryce and Zion, with a little retail therapy :)

Please continue to pray for peace for us during the wait, for the child God is preparing for our family, and for the people that are choosing life today.
I think this is such a great idea - a cute outfit, baby blanket or book/toy. Helps out the waiting - a bit like a hope chest for the engagement period!
