Business for Amazon

For some reason I consider each "successful" month of waiting an accomplishment.  My liberal definition of success is simply One, time lapsed, Two, we enjoyed that time, and Three, my husband still considers me overall sane and pleasant.  Though I've had a couple more emotional moments this month, overall its still good on the waiting front!

While T officially considers himself officially "on break," I've found that part of break for me is having a little fun with the anticipation of a child in more tangible ways, so this month I purchased our child's first book!

Future Baby B's First Children's Book

The reviews on Amazon reported this to be a heartwarming story about an adoptive mother fox explaining to her little fox what it was like to wait for him to "come into the big woods" and become a part of their family.  Its a very sweet story, though I was surprised at a couple of the very honest mother fox comments such as how she found it difficult at times to see all the other mothers with their babies.  This may not be one of our child's all-time favorites (I'm sure the Hungry Caterpillar or Goodnight Moon will win that competition), but at the right time it will be one avenue to help us explain how God creates families in different beautiful ways, and how much we loved him or her from the very beginning!

Next week we will attend a "Baby Care Basics" class at our agency.  I'm looking forward to seeing our social worker again and hope to build friendships with other families adopting through our agency.  After focusing so much on the adoption process, it will be good to invest a little more time in figuring out what to do when the baby arrives!  Another interesting note: our agency has 37 waiting families and has placed 13 infants so far in 2012.
