The First Step

We did it!  On Monday 12/12/2011 we submitted our first application papers to an adoption agency!  These few papers were really the pre-papers and included basics such as name, address, and other personal information that did not require more than a couple hours to gather.  Though the stack of papers itself was small, the step for our family was HUGE!  I walked in, recieved a warm welcome, handed in the pages, and in turn we were given the actual Home Study packet...the "big guns" paperwork.  Even though we have so much left to do, actually taking that step and becoming invested in the process, with a plan and path forward, made our first child immediately seem tangible.  To me it felt like we had received permission to dream again!  I'll detail more about the process later, but to all who are reading as support and/or simply to learn about adoption, welcome.  Thanks for joining us on this grand adventure.  We are eagerly anticipating the next steps and seeing what the next year(s) bring!   I can say that its been a long time since I've been this excited about something, and I love it!
